Connect Your Tastytrade Account

Follow these steps to securely connect your Tastytrade brokerage account to SODA using OAuth.

Before you start

Log in to Tastytrade

Go to tastytrade.com and sign in to your account. Then click the Manage tab in the top navigation bar.

Open API Settings

In the left sidebar under My profile, click API.

Create an OAuth Application

Click the OAuth application tile, then click Create Application.

Fill in the following:

Application Name
SODA Trading Bot
Scopes (check both)
read trade
Redirect URI
https://app.soda.money/callback

The redirect URI is required by Tastytrade's form but is not used by SODA. Enter exactly as shown above.

Click Create to save your application.

Copy Your Client Secret

After creating your app, Tastytrade will display your Client Secret. Copy it immediately and save it somewhere safe.

⚠️ Important: Tastytrade only shows the Client Secret once. If you lose it, you'll need to click "Regenerate" to create a new one — which will invalidate the old one.

Generate a Refresh Token

In your OAuth app settings, click Create Grant (or "New Personal OAuth Grant"). Check all scopes, then click create.

Copy the Refresh Token that appears. This token is long — that's normal.

ℹ️ Long-lived but not permanent: Refresh tokens typically last indefinitely, but can be revoked if you change your Tastytrade password or regenerate your Client Secret. If your bot stops connecting, generate a new token here and update it in SODA via Edit Keys.

Connect in SODA

Go to Accounts → + Add Account → Tastytrade in SODA. Paste your Client Secret and Refresh Token into the form, then click Connect Account.

🔒 Keep these secret. Your Client Secret and Refresh Token grant trading access to your brokerage account. SODA encrypts them immediately and never stores them in plain text. Do not share them or paste them into chat, email, or untrusted websites.

If you see ✓ Connected, you're all set!

🎉 You're Connected!

Your Tastytrade account is now securely linked to SODA via OAuth. You can deploy credit spread bots from the Strategies page.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid tastytrade OAuth credentials"

Double-check that you're pasting the Client Secret (not the Client ID) and a valid Refresh Token. If your Client Secret was regenerated, the old one no longer works.

Lost your Client Secret?

Go to your OAuth app at tastytrade.com → Manage → API → OAuth application. Click "Regenerate" to get a new one. Then update your credentials in SODA via Edit Keys.

Need a new Refresh Token?

In your OAuth app settings, click "Create Grant" to generate a fresh token. Update it in SODA via Edit Keys on your Tastytrade account.
